Blog #89 – Read and summarize the following article.  What kept the US film maker alive in Haiti?http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/100121/technology/haiti_quake_us_technolog

A US filmmaker was trapped under rubble with nothing but his iPod. He used a medical app on his iPod to learn how to treat some of his injuries. He also used the alarm to keep himself from falling asleep. This was an awesome survival story.

Blog #88 – Read and summarize the following article.  What did you learn from reading  it?  What is the message the article is sending?

http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/wayoflife/01/20/ah.no-text.pledge/index.html

Someones kid died because they got hit head-on by a SUV driver who was on the phone. They then went on Oprah. I learned that you should not use a phone while driving. The message the article is sending is to pay attention while driving, another persons life is not worth a phone call or text message.

Blog #83 – Read the following article.  Why are Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien attacking/taking aim on each other?  http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/100114/entertainment/us_tv_late_night_

They are fighting over ratings and time slots for their shows. Seems quite childish to me.

Blog #82 – Read the following article about a magazine name change?   What did you learn?  http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/100112/oddities/canada_media_sex_offbeat

They changed the name of the magazine from the beaver to canada’s history. This is because beaver has become a slang word for womens genitals. They changed the name because if someone tryed to search for the magazine they would often find porn instead.
